I am assuming your are talking about the Mono Introspection project that Alan
McGovern started on GitHub?
https://github.com/alanmcgovern/mono-introspect
You might have better luck emailing him directly or emailing the maintainer
(and creator) of gtk# - Mike Kestner.
In the long, long term, GObject Introspection would probably be the way to go
for Gtksharp; however, for now, it is easier just to continue using gapi.
I would do a search on the gtksharp-list on the direction that Mike is taking
gtksharp.
Then again, Mono Introspect is open source, so you could always contribute
patches or fork it.

Subject: [Gtk-sharp-list] GObject Introspection for .Net is dead?
I have visited GitHub repository for GObject Introspection to Mono project, but
found no activity since February, 2011.
Have you still consider to use GObject Introspection to get lot of GNOME
platform or GObject based libraries to work from Mono/C#?
