I'm not able to reproduce a crash. I've tried simple, logo, shapes, and
gears; and I'm able to resize the window for each without any problem.

I'm using GTK+ 2.14.7 and gtkmm 2.14.3. What versions of these are you
using? Can you provide a stack trace?
