Try Lindeman Engr'g in Campell; they rebuilt my rear shock and several
other GTS'ers - did great work. They are renowned in the racing
community.
Don't have the number handy,(don't have a San Jose phone book) but I'm
sure you can find it.
Some owners have gone to WP or Ohlins aftermarket shocks, but your
talking ~$600 per.
Mike Coan had good comment some time back: "I know you guys love to
spend money. I did on a WP front shock. That was before I found out the
front shock is an Olin. Yamaha owns the company. All you have to do is
get the thing rebuilt and that is about $150. Or if you want to spend
money you can buy my WP front because the rebuilt stock is just as
good."
I discovered by accident a short while ago that I went over the tallest
ramp on the rear and was 180 off. For some reason the shock preload
wasn't as stiff.
I was riding two up with bags packed and dragging everything. I ran it
around 180 again and it stiffened back up. I know, doesn't make any
sense, but...
I'll forward you another e-mail msg (from my personal archives) on a
link for suspension setup.
Good Luck,
