I just wanted to introduce myself to all the other list members out
there.
My name is Darren Kinoshita I live in Garden Grove California. My
current motorcycles are a pair of Yamaha's a '98 R1 and a '90 XTZ750
Super Tenere. I am currently considering the purchase of a GTS 1000 as a
project bike that is why I joined this list to get as much information as
possible about this bike to learn more about its strengths and weaknesses.
I have some very specific changes in mind should I decide to purchase a
GTS. But first I want to put everyone at ease I would not be buying a
pristine or probably even nice GTS I love the bikes too much for that. I
feel it would be a treason of some sort to take such a beutiful machine
and start experimenting with it. No that would be like putting ape hangers
and highway pegs on my R1 its just not done !
I would like to make a GTS more sporting and so I am looking at
mostly shaving weight and adding horsepower. Maybe upgrading the shocks if
it needs it. So I welcome any responses suggestions ideas. Thanks in
