Here's a little tip that will save a lot of pain.

Before you bring your bike in for service, strip off all the plastic 
cowlings yourself and leave them at home.
You can put the assorted screws into marked dixie cups until you 
reach the point that you can strip and re-assemble in your sleep.

It only takes a few minutes to strip and rebuild the cowlings.
The risk of damage or parts loss is way too great letting the dealer 
do it.
