Nice to meet several of you at the Honda Hoot this year. I saw more than
those that came to lunch but it was in passing (all '93's). Parked behind a
GTS from GA. in the deck at lunch on time Sat. maybe Steve B.'s? but whoever
was a no show for lunch. Had a nice time as always, did get video of our
ride down the parkway including a couple ditching a Valkerie in the grass
due to talking and not paying attention, they were fine, the Valkerie got a
bit dirty. Sad news was that McQuade of Motorcyclist Mag was killed on I-40
trying to avoid a truck that changed lanes. Truck never hit him but he lost
control swerving to get out of the way and hit a guard rail. That's the
story from closing ceremonies on Sat. evening. Honda Hoot moves to Knoxville
TN for the next three years due to the mayor of Asheville not liking
motorcyclists. $7 million boost for Knoxville and $7 million in the RED for
Asheville next year. Test rode the ZX-12R, ZX-9R, ZX-6R, K12RS, Ducati ST4,
Aprilia Mille & Falco (hope you guys at lunch did get to see the Aprilia
babe who also led the demo rides). Honda had the RC51 and 929 there but not
for test rides so no Honda's ridden. Yamaha only brought the cruisers as
usual. The wife thought the ZX-12R was fun, guess that was before I almost
lost her off the back...So when's the next GTS gathering???
