The Vision was a 550, not a 500. Just being picky, my first street bike was
a Vision 550 with the full fairing. Nice looking bike I always thought. I
moved on to a Seca 650 Turbo, then a Zuki Katana 1100 (1988) then the GTS in
1995.

Oh, yes. That's got to be Yamaha's weakest point.
The only bike that they got "right" in that business model was the FJ. That
was
what, 11 years of production, mucho refinement, and they basically stopped
selling it when the restrictions (noise, power, primarily) due to being
air-cooled were too much.
Let's see...Yamaha models that would have been great if they had kept
selling/developing/refining them, but they stopped (at least for US sales)
too
soon:
Vision 500
SRX 600
TDM 850
GTS

Me too!

Nothing that special, I'm afraid.

I'd really like a Skorpion.

Think of how much $$ the BMW R1100RS sells for...now think of how much
better
the GTS is, and how much cheaper. If Yamaha had kept selling the GTS after
1994, it could have been a real winner.
