Provided the food is reasonable, plentiful and efficient. If it isn't then those who can afford it will just go elsewhere. I also think it is important that the catering should be of the sitting down variety. If you just get sandwiches then people might be less likely to interact with people in a similar way to a sit down meal. Although I guess this kind of social interaction can still take place with evening meals. One option might be to distribute vouchers that can be redeemed at local restaurants to provide a fixed discount on a meal, e.g. £5 or £10.
