Hans, I think tracking this internet draft is "square one".  IETF has an
official comment policy, open to all.   If GP have write-ups of any work
we've done in this area, we can point this team in that direction.  I can
help - if it's easier - just transmit this info when I meet the author at
IETF in mid-Nov.
