Hi,

I hope I am not on the wrong list, if so, please direct me elsewhere.

If I remember correct, someone was posting some info on this mailing
list about anti facial recognition measures.

I was checking research on this and if I understand correctly, facial
recognition could be done even if you are wearing mask (over mouth) and
glasses, since AI algorithms are using quite a lot of nodal points on
the face. So my first question is, is it better if you are wearing mask
over the nose or over the mouth only?

I also have found an info, that some devices (for instance iPhone) are
using IR light to "penetrate" sunglasses.

So, my question is... what if I wear face mask and pinhole glasses (or
sunglasses with anti IR coating)? *To what extend would that measures
block facial recognition software on public places?*

In past years several European countries adopted legislation to prohibit
face masks. Those measures were justified by the publicsecurity (measure
against protesters), and there were also arguments that this measures
promote respect for European cultural values (measure against Muslim women).

Now things has changed. In my county you are obliged to wear a
protection mask if you go to store or bank. Plus protective gloves.
Which is kinda funny... :)

However, when COVID19 will be gone, there will still be medical reasons
for wearing masks. Not just infection, the problem is also air pollution.

What I am thinking is - wearing a mask is not our obligation. It is our
right. Of course, if we wear masks and glasses based on medical reasons.
Because medical reasons prevail public order and also security.

Regards,

Matej
