We've been running FreeBSD (4.4, 5.0, and 6.1), NetBSD 1.6, and
OpenBSD (3.2 and 4.0) for about 5 years now on VMware on IA-32. We
also run NetBSD and OpenBSD on the SIMH VAX.

A perfectly usable VMware client is available for free from the
vendor. There are several books and articles on VMware: see
