Election Results of Westmoreland County 2009
The Westmoreland County Courthouse to register to vote after a few queues was visible this spring at the election bureau. Eight candidates are vying for two nominations from each political party for Common Pleas judge in Westmoreland County. Voters will nominate candidates for township and borough offices and school boards.
Westmoreland County Democratic Committee Chairman Dante Bertani said there is little fervor among voters direction into the primary, partly as a result of the committee's decision not to endorse candidates. The Election Bureau conducts the Primary and General Elections and administers the Voter Registration process in the County.
There are 249,347 voters registered in Westmoreland County and including 88,116 Republicans and 136,423 Democrats. In last year nearly 62,795 registered Democrats and 21,957 Republicans in Fayette County. This year rush to change registration last spring was not likely to lead to voters to switch back this spring.
