Do Readline and LAPACK show up in ‘guix gc --references $(guix build apl)’? If they don’t, you can remove them. As for gettext, please check in the log whether some of its commands are actually run. Normally, when using Autoconf + Automake, the source tarball comes with .mo files, so it’s not necessary to have Gettext as an input. Otherwise the patch looks good to me. Thanks, Ludo’.
