The ‘guix’ command uses whatever code is pointed to by ~/.config/guix/latest¹, which is normally updated by ‘guix pull’. You mentioned fiddling with that symlink manually, no? Running ‘guix pull’ will update that symlink to the latest code. HTH, Ludo’. ¹ Except when using ./pre-inst-env, which overrides that.
