Maybe this issue has been discussed somewhere already, but I'm seeing that the main Guix repository on Codeberg is growing at an alarming rate.

When I created a fork a few weeks ago, the size of that fork was ~600 MB. By the time of my next fork on Thursday, that size had gone up to 1.1 GB, and presently the main repo is at 1.4 GB.

Aside from general sustainability concerns, I wonder what this means for typical Codeberg users with the default quota of 750 MB. Personally I haven't observed any quota-related errors, but perhaps quota enforcement is not immediate.

Yes, it has been discussed before, but it's not solved yet.

You can use agit-flow if you don't want to make a fork.

We should talk with Forgejo/Codeberg people to try to find a different approach for this.

PS: Why did the repo grow that fast?
