Oh dear.

Perhaps we need to elevate 'Slop' as a team category -- with defensive approaches (akin to Security or Moderation) to mitigate against inefficient and disingenuous behaviours? Or at least we need to ensure that pragmatic behaviours are handled in a manner conductive to integrity and interrogation (I understand Efraim has (post GDC008 vote results) exhibited this wrt accepting others contributions).?

For example, one could formalise as a heuristic an approach where Guix does not actively process tooling until they are accepted by a bundle of other operating systems. My definition of such a bundle would be primarily composed of operating systems which have clearly defined positions regarding the regulation or prohibition of LLM derived/initiated activity.
Gentoo comes to mind.

While I do not scour LLM adverse lists regarding tools to avoid, I do expect that there should be enough social knowledge out there to facilitate better hygiene.

Additionally, I would posit that the longer term trajectory would be for Guix to be a more minimalist project with a stronger core of packages. Supplementary tooling could be governed with syndicalist behaviours coordinating coteries of package channels.

From my perspective, this would be something to prioritise during Guix Days, Brussels, late January 2027.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

fwiw, as somebody who has presented at Fosdem numerous times, presenting advanced works that have in all likelihood been used by no user other than its "author", such reading does make this writer's heart skip a beat :) (Im sure Im not the only one who shall be missing the Minimalist and Declarative Computing Devroom during Fosdem in 2027 - thanks in any case for the work of those involved this occasion making the submission)
