The Goan Welfare Association, the sole representative body of the Goan Community in Qatar has all set for their Grand Gala Traditional �4th ANNUAL MAY QUEEN BALL 2004, a dinner dance on 20th May 2004 at the Diplomatic Club at 8.00 p.m. onwards. �ARCHIES� India�s leading and Goa�s No. 1 Band will be playing for the MAY BALL along with versatile female singer Miss. GEETANJALI MORE, Ex-AQUA FLOW from Bombay. ARCHIES, caters to people of all tastes who are creatively stimulating and their passion for music is real and so natural. Their music is immensely enjoyable, and infact it is a delight for listeners to be part of their programmes. Archies for their variety and quality of music are booked well in advance by the organizers of major dances like New Year Eve, Carnival (Varca/Sinquetim), Easter Ball, Navy Ball, Red & Black, Gasper Nite and for Christmass Eve every year at Betalbatim which is one of the best dances in the State of Goa known for decades. Desert Thunder D.J. Alex will give a rendition of his best musical extravaganza all through the show. The highlight of the event will be crowning of the MAY QUEEN and the proceeds of it will be offered to the CHARITY. Last year it was a tremendous success and acclaimed enormous value with the participation of 1000 guests. The May Queen Ball is one of the prestigious event held in Qatar for the expat community and expecting 1500 guests to attend it. In terms of prizes, organisation, hospitality and media coverage, the event is highly rated by the sponsors and well-wishers, states Simon D�Silva, President of the Goan Welfare Association, Qatar.
MR. AFTAB SHIVDASANI, Bollywood Star from India has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest. Some of the hit movies of Mr. Aftab Shivdasani are Masti (a recent hit at the Bollywood Box-Office which is a total laugh riot and doing huge business all over.), Mast, Kasoor, He has been featured in many movies like Mast, Kasoor, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Pyar � Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, Kya Yehi Pyaar hai, Awara Paagal Deewana, Pyaasa, Darna Mana Hai, Hungama, Footpath, etc. He will be accompanied by
another two Bollywood colleagues including a Goan Film Director Mr. Glen Barretto. Aftab�s forthcoming film is �Jaane Hoga Kya� a science fiction thriller based on human cloning written and Directed by Glen Barretto and Ankush, also staring Bipasha, Paresh Rawal, Rahul Dev, Preeti Jhagiani and Tinnu Anand. The event will be also attended by the Diplomats, VIP�s and other dignitaries. Last year Mr. Remo Fernandes, Indian Pop/Rock Star had the honour of crowning the 3rd May Queen in Qatar.
