The very talented DONALD COLACO from Benaulim has a great passion for acting and remembers doing so, when in the fourth standard and thereafter in one act plays. Donald recalls directing two non-commercial dramas 'Novem Jivit' and 'Mog', each of which were staged as one-off shows with a year's gap in between, in his own village.
Donald's first professional performance was in Christopher's drama "Anvddo" and had to say that he revels in playing roles of a Villian on-stage, but mentioned that he could play any type of role. Having acted in dramas of Rosario Rodrigues, Chrismeena, Premanand-Lotlikar and of John D'Silva in whose drama "VELL", he remembers putting in a lot of efforts and being very much appreciated for the same.
He also recalled about Fr. Freddy J. D'Costa giving him the title of "Goan Nana-Patekar" after watching his performance. He professed his appreciation of John D'Silva (on the writing side), Jose Rod (direction wise) and amongst the female artistes Antonette de Calangute, for her acting prowess.
At 34-years, married and having one daughter, Donald, a humble & down to earth person, mentioned coming to Kuwait in search of better prospects and mentioned that it was almost after 3-years that he got a chance to do a full-fledged role, when he starred in Jose Rod's drama "Tujem Naum Vhodd Zaum". Donald's performance in the same was quite notable for the role he played.
Given his talents, hope that Donald manages to get the right breaks, thereby encouraging him to do better, also do justice to his talents and maybe even have his productions in future and succeed.

Donald Colaco who played the role of Rainer, and Jane Colaco who excelled in her role as Vinola in 'Patang' drama were adjudged the best male and female actors respectively.
'Patang' directed by Joe Ferreira (Assolna) bagged the first prize for the best performance at the 2nd annual Konkani One Act Play Competition, organized by United Club of Utorda-Kuwait (UCU), in association with Goan Welfare Society (GWS)-Kuwait in February 2002.

AVC Sports & Overseas Association-Kuwait, the organizers of the Konkani drama entitled 'PALLAM' (Roots), written and directed by Donald Colaco will be held at the Hawalli Governorate Auditorium on Friday, 28th May 2004.
