   If one asks a regular tiatr goer to choose a good tiatr, he will name some tiatrs of his choice.  If one further asks him why he had chosen those tiatrs as good tiatrs, then he will say that it had melo-drama: it had enough comedy and that it had good entertaining songs.  Thus melo-drama, comedy and good songs become the ingredients of a popular tiatr. ...... Thus if melo-drama, where there is sadness, and which ends in a climax, the comedy which makes the audience laugh and laugh more, and songs with good music are included in a tiatr, then the said tiatr will be considered as an excellent one.

The tiatr "ALMANCHEA DISA" on Friday, 10th September 2004 in Kuwait at the Hawalli Governorate A/C Auditorium at 3.30 p.m. under the banner of MBM Presentation promises to tow in line with the traditional 'tiatr' format,  and the tiatr lovers in Kuwait will have the unique chance of witnessing Marcus Vaz's creation with his speciality of writing the comedy within the story line and context.


                     
                                   





  


 
Kuwait's popular stage artistes include Cajetan de Sanvordem, Mario de Majorda, Querobina Carvalho, Laurente Pereira, Micheal D'Silva, Manuel de Santa Cruz, Simon Gonsalves, Katty Carneiro, Rosary Ferns, Sandra Fernandes,  Sanny de Quepem,  Eusebio, Lawrie M, Victor de Calangute, Sylvester Vaz, Trio Princes Jonathan-Clifford-Terence, Kevin Vaz, Clinton Vaz, Martha Vaz, Conchita Cardoso, Adrian, and Marcus Vaz.   
 
To give an added impetus, Master Vaz, Prince Jacob, Comedian Humberto, Antonette de Calangute, Xavier Gomes, Annie Quadros, and Marcelino de Betim will be flown in from Goa !

A brief profile on Master Vaz





A brief profile on Master Vaz:Born on September 6, 1927 in Mapusa, today Master Vaz is the only living disciple of late legendary Minguel Rod.  Presently, he lives in Utorda, Salcette. At the age of six he was introduced to the Konkani stage by Ernest Rebello in his drama "Bomboiche Istil" as a child artist. Since his father was known as Mr Vaz, the young boy was named Master Vaz and it remained ever since.Master Vaz has written, directed and staged around 25 tiatrs - among the best include "Bapui", "Malgoddo Put Fulgoddo", "Menin Render, "Camilachi Famil", "Enddeachem Noxib", "Aum to Curroicar, "Amig Kettkar", "Amje Tarvar Jela", "Addecho Dotor", "Conn ti Ostori", "Ghor Sounsari Bail", "Goa Maim", and "Ghoracho Divo". He has staged his plays all over Goa, Maharashtra, Daman, Delhi, Karachi, and Africa.  Josephine Vaz, his sister used to sing 'duets' with him in his tiatrs. 
His son Marcus, residing in Kuwait, is popular among 'Cajetan-Marcus-Xavier" trio, and is well-known to all Konkani tiatr lovers.  Marcus Vaz is the founder of the Kuwait-Goa Tiatristanchi Sonvstha (KGTS), the only known tiatrists' faternity's association in the Gulf region. 
The Goa Government bestowed the State Cultural Award for 1996/97 upon senior Goan artistes, including once famed Konkani stage artiste, Jose Lourenco Vaz, alias Master Vaz.
