But who slapped the chapel thief?

Panaji Oct 30: Where theives are supposed to be
extra-alert and super-swift, this one was found
sleeping blissfully inside the Holy Cross chapel,
opposite the Asilo Hospital, Mapusa at 8.30 today
morning.
Twenty-eight-year-old Lingappa Basavraj, a native of
Karnataka, was found cosily curled inside the chapel
by a committee member, Mr Francis Fernandes, who
opened the chapel at 8.30 a.m. When handed over to the
Mapusa police and asked why he slept inside the chapel
after successfully dismantling a speaker for robbery,
Basavraj gave a spooky explanation. He told the police
that as he was robbing the chapel in the dead of
night, someone gave him a stinging slap and he fell
into a deep sleep. He has no clue and the police are
puzzled about who sent Basavraj to slumber and with a
single slap.
Basavraj had bent the grills of the chapel to gain
entry inside. He had just removed the speaker and was
planning to remove other items, when he got the slap.
He is now in custody of the Mapusa police who have
charged him with theft.
