| Colouring contest invite for children |

CHILDREN aged three and above are being invited to enter an art competition organised by the Lions Club of Bahrain. The Second Lions Tiny-Tots Colouring Competition will be held on Friday (19th November 2004) at the Quality Education School, in Kanoo Gardens, Salmaniya. The first competition was held in February and featured entries from over 120 youngsters at five different schools. "As the name suggests, the competition targets schoolchildren in two age categories: those born between 1995 and 1998; and those born between 1999 and 2001," said organising committee member K G Abraham. "The contest will be based on a concept aimed at nurturing the creative and artistic talents of young ones." Children are expected to arrive at the school by 9am for a 9.45am start. Colouring materials and paper will be provided at the venue by the Lions Club. The entries will be judged and prizes awarded at 11am. All contestants will receive certificates, while trophies will go to the winners. Snacks will also be provided to all participants. "For logistical reasons, entries will not be accepted directly and will be based on a nomination from the respective schools," said club board member and public relations chairman Mahesh Bhatia. The participating schools will each be allowed to send 10 students in each age group. They are the Indian School, New Indian School, Al Noor International School, Asian School, Sacred Heart School, Quality Education School, New Millennium School, Al Mahd Day Boarding School and the New Horizon School. |
