Goa beat Tamil Nadu to lift badminton title in Dubai26 November 2004 - DUBAI � Goa beat Tamil Nadu 3-1 in the final to win the annual inter-state badminton tournament organised by India Club of Dubai recently. 

Kamal Tolani and John Samuel gave the winners a great start by overpowering Deepak Dhiman and Vijay Lchwani of Tamil Nadu 15-6, 15-11. Tolani then partnered Seetha Haridas to beat Dhiman/Achala Agashe 15-11, 15-2 in the next match for a 2-0 lead.
But Tamil Nadu managed to cut down the deficit when Sailesh Patel/Nawaz Hussain defeated Anil Roopnani/Dev Maitra 15-0, 15-4. But Goa made sure of victory in the fourth match as Brian Carlson/Seetha Haridas easily beat Dharmendra S./Achala Agashe 15-3, 15-1. 
Ramakant Achrekar, former coach of Sachin Tendulkar, gave away the prizes to the Goa team while Shubha Singh presented the runners-up prizes to Tamil Nadu side.
