Most of the cast constitute those that were seen at the first Gomant Vishwa Sammelan held last year on the same days.
This function is open to the public however those that get themselves registered as DELEGATES for a fee of Rs 200/-(which is optional and NOT COMPULSORY) will recieve a kit with a T shirt of XX XL and medium size (medium size could be suitable mainly for women and exchangeable for fit& wear on choice at the counter) and literature distributed from time to time and entitlement for lunch dinner as well.
According to the Member Secretary 800 invites have been issued thus far.
There are attempts to get the NRI Facilitation Centre registered under the Registration of Societies Act following a Cabinet decision to that effect.
The draft health care policy may be up for the perusal of delegates to invite comments and suggestions as well.
The emphasis for this years "sammelan" convention is fostering the bonds of togetherness for the betterment of Goa and Goans. It is also intended to project the level of development and other latent potential of Goa to emerge as the number ONE destination not only
within India but internationally, and win the hands of NRIs/NRGs in this endeavour collectively.
While the response last year was not encouraging just 275 at last count which probably included the organisors themselves there are attempts to categorise the list of NRIs NRGs and others to ascertain the ground reality of participants.
Action taken report on the past assurance given will be provided as this was a strong demand put up by atleast one organisation vociferously the South Goa Public Interest Action Group
http://mumbai.sancharnet.in/manojnd
The NRI FC meanwhile desires the NRIs and NRGs or the public at large to provide the names of eminent Goans who have to their credit exemplary achievements the object being that the Awards should be made meaningful and prestigious enough for one to deserve and covet
them.
Emphasis have been placed on the Goa College of Art for the students have in their own exemplary way provided tremendous support to the Sammelan and other activites which have enhanced the prestige of Goa and Goans.
There will be stalls put up by the Health care Units in Goa other financial institutions (though many have the unpleasant experience of the fly by night operators who have fleeced many a Goan on promises of sheep and plantation investments)and Insurance
companies and the SGPIAG counter/stall showcasing as in the past of traditional Goan items to inculcate the love for Goa and Goans.
Meanwhile it is tentatively agreed to have a brief introductory session on stress management positive health asanas pranayama meditation by Sujit Guha Chowdhury Consultant on Yoga and Stress Management resident of Milrocs Alto Ribandar s[EMAIL PROTECTED] and Mr Chowdhury who claims to have qualified from BITS Pilani and an MBA is desirous of interacting with NRIs and NRGs for group activities in the field in their respective countries.
The organisor expect a good turnout given the changing scenario emerging in Goa and the success of the Internation Film Festival of India which has enhanced the image of Goa
To enthuse the NRIs and NRGs as well as the public it is planned to show the film "Aleesha" -- a Konkani film by stage artist
