Rising club of Sanvorcotto, Cuncolim - a social cultural sports club as part of its social and religious obligations towards society has donated part of the proceeds of the profit earned from staging a Konkani drama towards the sponsorship of seminarian for priesthood. An amount of Rs.10,000 has been contributed as co-sponsors for two students undergoing priesthood studies through the Pilar society. Fr. Walter Gonsalves, vicar general, in a communication to the club has thanked the club and has further added the Pilar Missionary Society is shouldering the responsibility of meeting the entire expenses of forming and guiding a seminarian to be a Pilar father. The formation of a seminarian to the priesthood is a journey taking twelve years of study, work, prayer and different experiences the letter adds. The co-sponsors of the seminarian beneficiary will be invited for his priestly ordination adds the letter also signed by Fr Cirilo Mendes SFX, in charge of Burses Desk, Pilar.
