17th All India Konkani Literary Conference will be held from tomorrow

Mumbai 18-Feb-2005: 17th All 17th All India Konkani Literary
Conference will be held from 19th February 2005 to 20th February 2005
at Madhav Shanbaug Nagar (Gibb High School), Kumta . Renowned Kannada
folk literature Mr. Chandrashekar Kambar will inaugurate the
conference.
Sahitya Akademy award winner Mr. Mahabaleshvar Sail will be the
president of the conference. Mr. Manohar Parikar, ex-chief minister of
Goa will be the chief guest. Karnataka Minister Mr. R. V. Deshpande
will inaugurate the souvenir. Mr. K. K. Pai of Dr. T. M. A. Pai
foundation will inaugurate the book exhibition. Mr. Mohan K. Shetty
MLA, Mr. Gangadar Bhatt MLA, Smt. Shubhalatha Asnotikar MLC will be
the guest of honour.

secretary.
There will be 21 delegates from Mumbai committee who have already
travelled to Kumta. Mr. J. B. Moraes will participate in Meet the
Author programme, Mr. J. B. Sequiera and Mrs. Philomena San Francisco
will participate in Poets Meet. Mr. Ancy Paladka will preside over the
poets meet.
