The Goa Assembly will see another vote of confidence on February 28. This time, it is the Congress government, which has to prove its majority. State Governor S C Jamir has asked the Goa Speaker to call the assembly session on February 28 to test the strength of the Pratap Singh Rane Congress government. Numbers gameThe Congress claims that by then it will prove its numbers in the Goa Assembly. Party sources told NDTV that at least two BJP MLAs would switch sides by that date."I can't reveal our strategy but we will be able to prove our majority," said Jitendra Deshprabhu, spokesperson, Goa Congress.The statement provoked an angry reaction from former BJP chief minister Manohar Parrikar. "They wanted to get our MLAs on their side, but we are confident about all our colleagues," said Parrikar.Tough timesBut it won't be an easy going for Manohar Parrikar. For the last few days, 12 of his BJP MLAs
 have been taken on a tour of Rajasthan to prevent them from being poached by the Congress. The BJP however, is hoping that the Speaker might disqualify independent MLA Philipe Nery Rodrigues, bringing down the Congress tally by one. At the moment, both the Congress and the BJP have the support of 18 MLAs each in the 37-member house, with the speaker from the BJP.SC orderMeanwhile, the Supreme Court today issued notices to the Congress government in Goa to reply to a petition by the BJP against its dismissal. The next hearing is on February 28 � the same day as the vote of confidence.
