Westminster take basketball honours

DUBAI � Hosts The Westminster School of Dubai won the inaugural inter-school girls basketball tournament when they defeated Dubai American Academy 6-5 in the final.
Sharifa Sabry of Westminster was voted the Best Player of the tournament while Amenda Rajendra of St Mary�s Catholic High School, Dubai, was named the Most Promising Player.
The other participating school was Cambridge International High School, Dubai. David Morrison, principal of Westminster School, who had earlier welcomed the teams and coaches said: �The tournament is not just about winning but enjoying it and giving hundred per cent to the game.�
The coaches of the participating teams were James Russel of Dubai American Academy, Alisair Koudsi (Westminster School, Dubai), Chandra (St. Mary�s School) and Maria Monteiro (Cambridge International High School, Dubai).
