| Oman Air to start intl services from Hyd, Delhi |

| Oman Air is increasing its presence in India from four cities to six. The airline plans to add to its list Delhi with four flights and Hyderabad with three flights from June 1. It also plans to expand its frequency to Mumbai and Kochi. |
| Oman Air has been granted rights to operate to these two destinations as of April 27. At present, it operates 10 flights to Mumbai, five flights to Kochi and seven flights to Chennai and Thiruvanthapuram per week. |
| �India will always be the jewel in our crown, simply because of the volume and growth opportunities,� said Abdul Rahman Al Busaidy, chief executive officer of Oman Air. |
| Oman Air derives 45 per cent of its revenues from routes from India. In the calender year 2004, Oman Air notched up revenues of $200 million and made a profit of $2 million. |
| The airline is also interested in adding Calicut, Tiruchi, Ahmedabad and Bangalore to its list of destinations. Besides increasing the number of destinations, Oman Air is open to invest in airport infrastructure considering the huge growth opportunities that the country offers. |
| "India is growing by leaps and bounds, what we see is only the tip of the iceberg," added Busaidy. |
| It also envisages plentiful growth in freight , due to the export of fruit, vegetables and garments to the Gulf. Though it does not operate any freight aircraft, it plans on starting one soon. "Freight traffic to India is guaranteed, there is huge, huge potential, 15 per cent of our revenue is from cargo," remarked Busaidy. |
