| Poetry session on Konkani humour poetry held on May 6 |

Daijiworld News Network (DC) Under the guidance of Melvyn Rodrigues, Kavitaa Trust organised a half-day session on humour poetry (Hasya-Kavi Goshti), where 26 up and coming poets and enthusiasts took part. The event was held at Karama Dubai. The event began at 11.00 am. Melvyn Rodrigues gave some important tips to be followed while reciting poetry. Melvyn Rodrigues, M P Rodrigues, Andrew D'Cunha, Pius James, Dinesh Correa, Naveen Sequeira, Alwyn, Dayan D'Souza, Walter Nandalike, Violet Pereira, Arthur Pereira, Robert Udyavar, Praveen Tauro, Valley Quadras and Vincent Angelore recited their self composed poems. Darryl Sequeira and Averyl Rodrigues recited CGS Taccode and Melvyn's Poems respectively. A short discussion session was also held later, where people shared their views and opinions on various matters. Earlier, Robert Udyavar welcomed the gathering. A few Konkani books and magazines were given-away to the enthusiastic Konkani readers.
The event is part of the series of workshops and poetry sessions being held by Kavitaa Trust, under the guidance of Konkani's veteran poet, Mevyn Rodrigues. Next session will be held on June 10th. It will be a seminar on Valley Quadras' Poems in his maiden work Kattputhli. Andrew D'Cunha and Nanu Marol Thottam will present their papers on Valley Quadras' poetry. |
