Winning a million US dollars from Dubai Duty Free has become everyone�s dream, and Aniceto Fernandes, an Abu Dhabi-based Indian national was lucky that his ticket number 0178 in Series number 48 has made him a Million Dollars richer in Dubai Duty Free�s Millennium Millionaire Promotion. The fifty-four year old father of two was over the moon when he heard the news and could not believe his luck. | ||
�This is truly fantastic! I can�t believe it! This is the first time I have won anything in my life�, said Mr Fernandes. �I started buying tickets for the Million Dollar promotion since day one, and when I received a call today, I said - this is it!�, added Mr Fernandes who was delighted that finally his perseverance has paid-off. | ||
A frequent traveler, Mr Fernandes works as a Financial Controller for Baker Atlas and has been a resident of the UAE for 28 years. The Fernadeses� are currently based in Abu Dhabi. He purchased his winning ticket on 16th February when he traveled to India on holiday. When asked of his future plans, he replied:�I love my country and I have to start something in my hometown of Goa. I�d like to share with them a little of my luck. A part of it will go to charity, I will make a wise investment and of course, I�ll save the rest for my children�s future�. | ||
His winning ticket was drawn this morning by Dubai Duty Free�s Managing Director Colm McLoughlin along with George Horan, Deputy Managing Director and Salah Tahlak, Director-Corporate Communications & DTC. At a presentation ceremony held along with the draw, the winners of the earlier Millennium Millionaire in Series no. 46 and 47, Mr P Krishnan and Mr Mohammed U.O. respectively, were presented with the ceremonial cheque of US$ 1 million each. | ||
Mr Krishnan who works for Emirates Airlines� Financial Department is a double winner with Dubai Duty Free. In 2003, Mr Krishnan had won a Mercedes Benz S500 in the Finest Surprise Promotion in April 2003. He plans to invest a part of his winning on property and the rest will go towards his children�s education. His fellow winner, Mr Mohammed who is based in Qatar, is still thinking of ways on how he will spend his US$ 1 million. Both winners were thankful for having participated in Dubai Duty Free�s Millennium Millionaire promotion and will continue to support its various promotions in the future. |
