I fully agree with Oliveira, but I just wish that all those in power would think with a broad mind for the welfare of the people as a whole and not their own selfish gains....and we too as citzens of the state should not just blindly vote for some small time gains promised just during the election time but rather make sure that all politicians keep up to the promises that they make during the elections time.
I think every politican should on a monthly basis at least visit his/her constituency and and update the people he represents of his/her progress and he should be held responsible for the same just as employees have to report to the line managers and be accounted for.
Hope for a better Goa......

Dear All,
Goa is a small, beautiful State and considering its
size, it is time to realise that large areas of land
have been allocated to the Defence forces i.e., at
Bambolim plateau, in the heart of Panjim, Ponda, and
Margao to the Army; so also in Vasco, Dabolim, Verem,
Nerul plateau, airport and gifted the beautiful
island of Anjedevi to the Navy. That means
proportionately Goa has contributed more than any
other State, its share of property to the defence
needs of the country.
The setting up of Mopa airport which means
surrendering entirely the existing civilian airport at
Dabolim to the Navy is unnecessary and uncalled for.
The project is too extravagant, huge waste of land and
colossal financial burden to the State without any
additional benefit. State like Maharastra have not
opted for additional airport inspite of the fact that
areas like Ratnagiri, Kankavli of the Konkan region
are growing in industries.
It is important to realise that indiscriminate usage
of land resource will only lead to chaos like
Bangladesh where no vacant land is available anymore
for the natural growth and well being of the
population.
Goa must concentrate on domestic needs as a priority.
With 40 MLAs, 12 Ministers and scores of high ranking
officers, the focus of attention is on mega projects
like Mopa, SEZ , 4 lane highways, Oceanarium etc. when
the need of the hour is to solve the garbage crisis
and maintaining a clean environment. In actual fact
the abc of infrastructure is to deal with garbage,
proper drainage systems, sanitation/health, basic
water supply, and power.
Why cant our Government get it right when others can?
