Hi Sanny,

Thank you for the beautiful article that brought memories of our childhood.
I chuckled when I herad the words "Chetmet, burmutti,'etc. Gone are the days, today's kids are surely misisng all these. A many of these things are expressed in my novel too, and about 100 pages were taken out by the editor, because mostly it was not pertaining to the story line, but I was advised to bring out another non-fictional book, which I might  later on.
e.g. chiknolli, killing shirlo, and the social structure of life in Goa.
How the kankonkar would fit the new bride with smaller size kanknnan so he could feel the hands of the vokol twice , while putting the kanknamm and taking them out again. and also the dorji measuring the girls for dresses and lots of other things too like giving tandull to bhikarn from the donn and finding mangoes hidden in the donn, etc.

It was really very nostalgic to read all this in your article. Please continue doing this.
I too live on these memories and chuckle to myself on the subway thinking about this.

I talked to Raimundo Menezes and he surely remembers you. He said you were very gifted singer/composer and that you worked so hard in your early days, that you were the only boy who used to grind masala, carry water from the well and help out at home. Very very impressive indeed. I like people who do hard work and attain success and wealth inthe end. god truly blesses hard working people like you. I am really proud of you indeed.
Now is the time to take rest for you and write about all this so the readers today on internet can appreciate the life in Goa. That was the intention when I wrote my novel.
