The contribution from women singer to the field of Konkani Music Album is though not in a big number, but it is noteworthy. Benny D`Souza (Benny teacher) of Dubai has alone brought at least 5 various albums, but the theme is devotional or religious. Now, a young girl from Kuwait, who was little known in Kuwait and elsewhere until Goan community gave her a break in Kuwait to display her talent. Later, she appeared in several Mangalorean community program too. Today, Thelma is a rising star in Kuwait, as her recent performances have given lot of confidence to her. She is a complete singer as her background is Classical music. She learnt Hindustani Shastriya Sangeeth under Pandit M.S. Das for 9 years. She has performed and participated in many shows including "Zashem Aadi Thase Aathan", "Mando Utosa 2003", "150th Mand Sobhan" which was assisted by famous film industry musician Allwyn Fernandes, Sax Raja and violinist Manoj, and "Konkani Utsav 2004" directed by famous Vish Kalaratna and Eric Ozerio, before participating community programes in Kuwait. She has sung in many audio cassettes in Konkani, Kannada and Hindi.She formed her own music band "Mesmaraizers" and was the lead vocalist. Now she has a dream, and her dream seems to be genuine. When a woman folk, with so much experience and talent steps down to bring our devotional album, she must get a support from her wellwishers. As everyone knows, there is no commercial value for devotional albums, and only sponsors help can make her dream true. While speaking to daijiworld with her request she says "Ever since, I landed in Kuwait, amidst Spirited and Enthusiastic people like you. A wish came waving in my dreams, and this envisioned but can only bloom to a beautiful flower only with your multitude There is a Saying, "When you sing you pray twice." My deep and sincere love for singing has urged me to come out with a devotional Devotional album in Konkani. She has no intention to make this project as commercial, whatever proceeds she receive will be used for social cause, she says. "The proceeds of this project will go to "SEON ASHRAM" which is in Mangalore (India); this ashram takes care of physically and mentally handicapped people.
