This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. With a slight delay, old vehicles appear
at http://omeyer.gmxhome.de/GURPSnet_files/summary.html

ArcoTech Ambulance v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL9)
  Copyright 2006 by Onno Meyer

On very inhospitable planets, populations are often concentrated in a
few arcologies. Vehicles for use within these buildings differ from the
open country models - size matters, and bigger isn't always better.
The ArcoTech Ambulance is 2.7 m long and 1.5 m wide, small enough even
for residential corridors. It has two seats in front and two more in the
rear, along with two stretchers. The upper stretcher is generally folded
against the roof to improve access space for the lower stretcher. Both
stretchers have compact support units to stabilize a patient during the
drive to the nearest hospital, but no full automeds.
At full speed, the power cells last for 9.6 hours.

Subassemblies: Body +3, four small Wheels -1.
Powertrain: 30-kW wheeled drivetrain; four 270,000-kWs rechargeable E
  cells.
Occ: 2 NCS, 2 NS. Cargo: 2.5 cf.

Design Notes
Body is 228 cf. Wheels are 12 cf (increased volume). Structure is
light and standard. Improved brakes and all-wheel steering. Body armor
is standard composite, wheel armor is standard metal. Mechanical
controls. There are 6.8 cf of access space. Empty weight is 1,250 lbs.
The TL9 vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules
affect the background but not the technology of this design.

Next Week: A bus, only marginally larger.
