I have played GURPS for years and have always played
that bow weapons have their own streagnth. If you
check the rules it is not clearly stated, but it makes
no sense that all bows are the same.

if I find a 2 bows and I give one to you then if they
are the same basic bow they should do the same basic
damage. if they are different then they should do
different damage. The rules are clear on what happens
if you do not have the streangth to use a bow, so it
seemed to me that every bow has its own streangth.

I would recomend trying it out and seeing it you like
the way it works. I find it to be very realistic,a nd
not to muchmore bookkeeping. It also allows
higherstreangth players to have custom weapons made
that only they can use.

Think of Homer's Illiad...and that KICK ass bow that
only he could string and fire.... :) that is what it
lets you do.....

just a thought
