This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. With a slight delay, old vehicles appear
at http://omeyer.gmxhome.de/GURPSnet_files/summary.html

ArcoTech Fire Engine v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL9)
  Copyright 2006 by Onno Meyer

On very inhospitable planets, populations are often concentrated in a
few arcologies. Vehicles for use within these buildings differ from the
open country models - size matters, and bigger isn't always better.
The Fire Engine is just 1.5 m wide and 3.9 m long. Even so, it has an
articulated body to negotiate residential corridors. The front section
holds four of the six firemen and a water/foam cannon with a 200 gallon
tank. The rear section holds the remaining two firemen and a folding 30'
ladder to reach ceiling-mounted utilities and hatches to the next higher
level. Unlike most other arcology vehicles, the ArcoTech Fire Engine is
sealed against environmental hazards - in this case smoke and foam, not
rain.
At full speed, the power cells last for 6 hours. A full tank of foam
is $200.

The TL9 vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules
affect the background but not the technology of this design. I used
common sense rather than the letter of the rule for the water cannon
volume.

Next Week: A small maintenance truck.
