This is also my point of view. It's a borrowing & time-consuming task
to calculate the percentage of volume destroyed by the spell... It's
not playable.

Homogeneous, of course.
Vital points ? Not at all. It's contrary the "standard" idea of
elemental - a humanoid-form composed of a single pure element (fire,
air,...). There's magic, so it could happen.
My idea, of course.

Damage to elementals means disperde part of his body hit-by-hit until
the HP will be reduced to zero (I mean = damage it reducing his
consistency)

If rules apply, I couldn't refuse the (good) idea & apply the effects
of the spell.

Not "quick & dirty" but quite logical & playable. We're not engineers
at work : we're only roleplayers (only ?... ^___^)
