Look at how much trouble the patrol planes and even attack squadrons had 
finding each other's fleets at the Battle of Midway. Now have the planes 
searching for a handful of subs instead of 3-4 fleet carriers and over a dozen 
escort ships.

Properly, though, submersible carriers should be looked at as a stealth 
platform -- a regular carrier is a B-52, a submsersible carrier is an F-117.
