Hello.

When you are loading a WFS layer in gvSIG, you can see the WFS request that the application is sending to the server by the console. Just copy this url in a browser and have a look to the length of the retrieved fields.

Regards,
Jorge.

Hello, Rolf.
Yes, I'm afraid the gvSIG Oracle Spatial driver is mistakenly limiting the length of string attributes. I am fixing that now. Anyway, the WFS server you are using is a public one or is only available inside your local network? What is the URL?

*Asunto:* [Gvsig_english] Transfering Data to oracle Spatial

Hi List,
my name is Rolf Annecke and I am new in your list.
I am the 3rd user of gvSIG in the Department for Health and Environment
in the City of Munich.
My question deals with the import of datas in Oracle Spatial.
I am connected to an WFS-Server. The field length of one item is more
than 100; it is about 300. I can see the whole content in the table.
Transfering this data to oracle spatial I get a mistake with the
following report:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899: Wert zu groß für Spalte
"T_RGU"."TEST"."listentext" (aktuell: 114, maximal: 100)
It seems, that there is a limitation to 100 characters.
The same mistake occured by transfering the adequate csv-Datas.

Is this limitation to 100 characters caused by
    a) gvSIG or is this caused by
    b) the database of oracle spatial?

If a), do you know a way transfering data to oracle with more than 100
characters by gvSIG?
Thank you for your answers.
Best
Rolf Annecke
