Hello,
the log file does not tell me anything about the error. However, I've
found the error message in "WmsRasterDriver.java" - the image seems to
be NULL? so without content. But the server exists.
I've realized that the error does NOT appear each time, but if I load an
error image and won't delete it, the error will appear again and again
and won't show any wms.
The error image example was from:
http://www.gis.nrw.de/wms/DGM50?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION=1.1.0&SERVICE=WMS
Following example does work without problems:
http://132.156.10.87/cgi-bin/atlaswms_en?REQUEST=GetCapabilities
Nevertheless, I should get a logger message, shouldn't I?

One of the first lines in the Eclipse console will tell you where the
log files are (there are two log files actually, but one of them can
be empty). Can you paste in your next email the content of the Eclipse
console and the content of the log files?

Dear list,
anybody out there who has tried to load a WMS with the source code
running in Eclipse?
I've tested the downloadable WinXP version -> no problems apart from the
language which seems to be spanish only. However, that doesn't matter,
but I don't understand why my self-compiled version does not load any
WMS image. Is it possible that the SVN version is not the current
version? Or did I forget to include something?
