In general, I agree that it is a good idea to move features
out of the de facto unmaintained gvSIG extensions and into
SEXTANTE. It is also always a good idea to reduce redundancy.
And I would love to get rid of some dead code rather sooner
than later. All it does is produce more bug reports.

However, this will have to be evaluated on a tool-by-tool
basis.

Off the top of my head, I would say the following
do not have an equivalent in SEXTANTE and would take some
time to re-implement:
- Spatial Join
- Topology tools
- (any more?)

Some tools require direct interaction with the gvSIG Views,
but could probably be redesigned for SEXTANTE:
- Vector transformations (rubber-sheeting, affine, etc.)
- (any more?)

Then there is some half-working and dead code that should be
removed rather sooner than later and would have a much better
place in SEXTANTE:
- Raster Calculator
- Decision Trees
- Image fusion (Brovey and A Trous transforms)
- Mosaicking

Others should definitely stay in gvSIG:
- image filters
- raster zoom tool
- RGB histograms and profiles.
- Georeferencing

Should we move this discussion to the forums or wiki?

We should make a detailed list of functions that should be
moved to SEXTANTE and features that need implementation in
SEXTANTE.
