Dear All --

Those of you who have subscribed to the gvsigce-devs mailing list
will have noticed a flurry of new SVN commits this week. Almost
all of these were changes that have been merged in from the OSOR
SVN. What this means is that gvSIG CE now contains all the new
bug fixes and improvements that have been developed for gvSIG 1.11,
and are being developed for gvSIG 1.12. But it also retains the
good things from the OADE sources that were never incorporated
into gvSIG 1.10/1.11/1.12, such as the improved GUI menus and
English translations. I have also merged in the patch that makes
interval type thematic maps with negative attribute value ranges
work (Jose sent this one to around earlier).

The sources in our SVN compile without errors. However, there
are many problems to fix. At the moment, I cannot even get
a simple Shapefile to load. This may be due to some recent changes
in the OSOR SVN leading up to gvSIG 1.12. How fast we can get a
stable base for a first gvSIG CE release out of the current
code base depends on how many people we can get to test and
fix our source code.

For those of you who want to get cracking on the manuals: the
old text and illustrations for gvSIG OADE are now also in the
SVN (docs/manuals). You will need LyX to edit them (www.lyx.org).
Please note that they are under a Creative Commons License which
must stay intact and give credit to all original authors and
sponsors.

You will find a list of things to do before the first alpha
release here:

Any help appreciated.

Best,

Ben
