Thanks for working on this, Ruth.
A few comments:

First page:

OpenSource GIS = Open Source GIS

http://www.iaw.unibe.ch/content/ = http://www.iaw.unibe.ch

Also, I would remove all trailing "/" from the URLs.

Second Page:

A free, ready-to-use GIS = A Free, Ready-To-Use GIS

gvSIG CE gives you complete GIS capabilities to =
gvSIG CE gives you complete GIS capabilities to:

(I would also put a "." after every one of the three
list items -- since they are sort of complete sentences
and we decided to capitalize the first words.)

Likewise, change the following text block:

[..] that provides easy access to a multitude of geo-
data sources, including
- Vector files (Shapefiles, DGN, DXF, DWG, GML, KML)
- Raster files (GeoTIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, etc.)
- spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle, ArcSDE etc.)
- web services (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS, ArcIMS).

(note one missing comma, capitalization and periods).

As far as software for creation of further material
is concerned, I think something that is actually
designed for desktop publishing and page layout would
be preferable, such as Scribus or Inkscape.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
