I like the possible improved time navigation you hint at in the
upcoming firmware release. Perhaps the BS could emulate the system
used in the Victor Stream in which the longer one holds down the
forward or backward button the increasingly-larger time increment is
initiated. So holding down the button for backward can reverse,
first by seconds, then by minutes, then by tens of minutes. This is
an elegant implementation, something like a jog wheel on a DVD. I
hope HIMS will select a sleek implementation like this for time navigation.

Right you are. I am very much looking forward to the new firmware.
This going back a full minute is one of the things I want fixed most
because reading NLS books is one of the main things I use the Book Sense for.
Despite the problems I have mentioned here, I do like the Book Sense
a great deal and use it a lot every day. I think the new firmware
will just make a great product even better.

Subject: [GW-Booksense] a teaser of the new firmware
Hello all. I just want to let everyone know that we are testing
some of the new features and enhancements of the next firmware of
the BookSense. There are some pretty exciting things happening
with it. In this message I'll tell you about one of them.
With the new firmware, you can safely sneeze while listening to an
NLS book, knowing that you can reverse the book in smaller than
one minute increments. This is because in the new firmware, the
movement by time has been adjusted so that it is consistent with
the media player. So now there are settings such as 5 seconds, 10
seconds, ETC. Also, any book located inside the nls folder
defaults to movement by time instead of by phrase.
We still don't have a release date, but I can say that it's getting closer.
Many thanks.
