I have a Book Sense Standard and I really like it. Until today, I haven't done a reset in about two months, even though I use it just about every day.
I had a problem with an NLS book today. The Book Sense locked up at a certain time in the file and I had to do a battery-removal reset to get it to work again. I played the book three times, and every time, it locked up in the exact same place. I was not able to go forward past that point in the book. If I was less than one minute from the point at which the BS locked up and went forward, the unit quit working. I could do nothing but a reset. So, I deleted the book folder from my SD card and copied the folder from my PC back to the SD card. Now the book plays fine. Just a suggestion for when you get a lock up with an NLS book. If just recopying the folder hadn't helped, my next step would have been to download the book again from the BARD site I'm not saying that there are no firmware issues that may cause the Book Sense to lock up. But clearly, since I was able to fix this book so easily, not all Book Sense lock ups are due to firmware problems. Evan If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
