Wouldn't it have been better if when playing any audio content, the volume
up and down would only change the audio volume without changing the tts
volume?

Subject: Re: [GW-Booksense] Upgrade works fine
Hello Rod. Thank you for the very constructive feedback on the new
firmware. We considered using the name media for the folder, but in the
end it was decided on Movies since using media it was felt it may
introduce tech support issues since you are in the media player and the
word media would have multiple meanings. Another suggestion was misc media
and this may be a possibility. The volume issue is still an issue, but if
we had worked more on it, the upgrade would have been delayed even longer.
We want to make sure and keep things as stable as possible. The feature of
treating folders in the audio books folder as one item is a major plus and
my personal favorite, so I'm totally with you there..
As always, we will continue to try and keep the stability fixes and
improvements going for the future.
many thanks.

Hi Raul and GW,
Thanks for the upgrade and mp3 file.
I noticed that the volume levels have been matched a bit more closely
between the NLS daisy books and the TTS voice, however, I also noticed
that the overall maximum volume level is not as high as it was before.
This may still be a problem for users who may have a noisy environment
to listen in.
I will offer my two cents worth as to the new folder in the media
player. I am of the opinion, and it is my own opinion only, that it
would have been better to name a new folder "Media" instead of "Movies"
as it is a broader and less constrictive name for what the player
actually does, play "Media". Then we could just create any sub folders
we want in the Media folder and more accurately sort our types of media.
I am extremely pleased that the Playlist now actually work again!
However, it would be nice to have playlists, and only playlists, resume
where we left off when we go back to a particular playlist to start it
up again.
I am extremely happy about the fact that I will no longer have to
combine all of the tracks from a CD audio book that has been ripped to a
hundred or more tracks in order to play it on the unit and place a book
mark in it! Thank you, Thank you!
These are just my first impressions of the firmware upgrade. I'm sure
that there will be a lot of comment and questions from other listers.
Again, Thanks to GW and HIMS!
Lovin' my Ruby Red Reader even more!
Rod
