Sorry, I'm know help with the bluetooth headset, I haven't played around with that yet.
Upgrading, I found pretty easy. You'll find the correct link on: www.gwmicro.com/booksense Save target to your computer, then unzip the files. Copy the 2 bin files over the the main root directory of your sd card or booksense. Remember, not inside any folders, just in the main part. Plug in your booksense, turn it on and go to advance menu. Press right arrow, it should save upgrade dialogue. Press the center button and be patient. Gwmicrow also offers proper directions.
