Hi Keao, Forget it!
I asked the same thing back in July. As of now, we don't have any choice as to whether we want the unit to tell us the seconds except that you can tap the time key again to shut it up as soon as the time is spoken. Hopefully, this is one of the things that we can possibly look forward to seeing in the time setup part of the options menu. I like the time, I like the date, I don't need to know the exact second that I press the time button, which, by the nature of the beast is not true by the time it is spoken in any case! I hope you get as much use and enjoyment from your Book Sense as I have, even if we do have to put up with that minor annoyance for now.
