Do you have a USB port? There are external small keyboards with just
the numpad. You can find them at most electronics stores. With
some, you always have to depress the top left key each time after you
get the "Window-Eyes" message for the keyboard to function properly

How many of you use the present laptop keyboard layout provided by GW Micro?
Though my laptop provides much it has no way to use a number pad at all.
I do not wish to create my own layout, or always need scripts to make
the layout more accessible.
I've tested the homer layout but find the remapping of capslock to be
inconsistant.
That needs to be a system wide thing in that case.
Another problem I have found is that if you use keyboard describer
mode in the Window-Eyes system, the insert key or whatever is
processed as a separate key.
So if you pressed insert something you'd see:
"Insert No discription for this key!"
"Reads date and time" for instance.
So let me know what you all think.
Maybe someone at GW Micro could produce an audio document taht
actually goes over with demonstrations all of the laptop specific
keystrokes available for Window-Eyes.
Thanks.
