Hi,

The Book Sense can see the NLS cartridges just fine when attached to the unit
with the short cable that came with the Book Sense.
As soon as you plug it in, the Book Sense puts its own folder structure onto
the cartridge, just as It does with any flash drive.
You can then copy any files into those folders and use it just as you could any
flash/jump/thumb drive.

But, sorry to say, the NLS player won't see any of the files you put into these
folders.

Just for fun, I plugged a 1 terrabyte external self powered hard drive into my
Book Sense.
It sat there for about five minutes and then I heard the "ding dong" door bell
chime you get when inserting an SD card or hooking up a flash drive.
When I pressed the zero key and switched to the external drive, it looked at
the drive and gave me all of the normal folders.

I then hooked the drive up to my computer and moved a whole lot of files, music
and podcasts and books, into the proper folders.

Once more attaching the drive to my Book Sense, I was able to listen to and
read anything that was in the proper folders from the 1 terrabyte hard drive!

This won't work with hard drives that run from only the USB cable, as there is
not enough battery power to spin up actual hard drives. If it did, it sure
wouldn't run very long!

It was a fun experiment, but only useful if one wants to just sit by the table
where the hard drive is sitting to listen.
